These unique tools turn a conventional blanking press into a high production trapezoid and parallel shape blanker. They are provided on a self-contained die set for easy locating and clamping to the press bolster plate. The shear blade oscillates up to ±30 degrees with each press stroke to produce net-shaped blanks and optimize material usage. The Oscillating Shear Die combines conventional shearing with modern servo technology to provide flexible and fully programmable shearing operations. Parameters such as shear angle and production speed are stored in the Job Recipe and recalled through a Panelview MMI.

On display at METALFORM Nashville will be samples, pictures and videos of thickened blanks made by the newly developed method from our represented - WF MASCHINENBAU. Round flat blanks can be made thicker/thinner in portions, at the edge or in the middle or in between. See accompanying picture – a cross-section of the half of what originally was a flat blank, 3 mm thick and 320 mm OD. After the thickening process, the center of the blank (to the right) is 6 mm thick, the middle is 2 mm and the outer edge (to the left) is 10 mm thick. Round flat blanks can also be made thinner and the OD will then become larger.

During the METALFORM show we will provide pictures, videos and technical data of a Leifeld metal spinning machine outfitted with a laser system. This method makes a spinning machine even more suitable for forming advanced materials for high-performance industrial applications. The laser introduces thermal energy into the forming zone during the mechanical forming operation. Amada America, Inc. has announced the availability of their new "S-frame" option for three (3) models of single point gap link motion stamping presses in capacities from 110 to 200 metric tons.
The "S-frame" utilizes one-piece frame side plates with special reinforcements to provide zero angular deflection under loads up to maximum press capacity, reduces bed deflection by up to 35% and vertical stretch between the slide face and bolster by up to 30%. Front-to-back and left-to-right off center loading characteristics are also improved by up to 40%. Benefits provided by "S-frame" machines include: Increased part accuracy, longer tooling life, higher production speeds, and reductions in punch breakthrough, reverse tonnage, operating noise and vibration. All presses are built to exceed JIS Class 1 accuracy standards.

Two NEW Sizes for the Popular TBHS Escaping Arc clamp.
The rod of the TBHS follows an arc path to ensure clamping forces are applied perpendicular to the mounting surface. The escaping motion removes the risk of sticking, inherent with traditional wedge clamps, when exposed to shocks and vibrations. The Escaping Arc clamp also includes a mechanical safety lock to prevent a die from dropping in the event of pressure failure.
